Love

1 Corinthians 13:1-3NIV

13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.

It’s easy to love family, friends and acquaintances.

But how are we living?  Are we living in love?

Conditional love? Unconditional love?

You may ask,  “Why would God ask us to do such a thing?”

How could he possibly expect us to love those we don’t know or those who hurt us?

Why would he ask us to love the wicked, evil doers,  those who don’t like us and those who are not kind to us?

This kind of love is spiritual, not flesh.

We have to pray and ask God for the capacity to love as He expects us to love.

God will teach us to love beyond the person’s faults and iniquities.

Only God can give us that capacity of love.  We can’t do it on our own.
