
Weekly Scripture: Luke 6:22-23
Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and
reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.
Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.
For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.
James 1:2-3 (NIV)
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,
whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Joy is a tough topic when we live in a world that’s full of despair and trouble.
Why does the Lord teach us to be joyful even in difficult times?
How can we have joy when our peace is disturbed? Violent harm has affected us?
How can we have joy when our heart is hurting? Grief-stricken? Rejected?
How can we have joy when we’re persecuted? Scorned?
Why does Christ teach us to have joy?
The answers are found in The Lord. Joy can’t be forced on you or mandated.
You have to Joy is within. Inner peace. Faith in God.
Joy is knowing where your help truly comes from.
There is something about the name of Jesus.
Call on His name during difficult times and situations.
There will be victory in your pain. Stand on the word of God.
