DEEP SEA FAITH

FAITH

Mark 4:38-41 NIV

38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”41 They were  terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Can you imagine being on a cruise ship in the midst of a hurricane?  Frightening!  When we think about that scene alone, it’s frightening.  But when you think about that scene when you have Jesus in the midst, it feels much different.  No worries.  There is no way Jesus would let us perish on a ship in the middle of the sea.  Today, we have to exercise “deep sea” faith.  There is so much happening that can distract us and put us in a state of worry and fear.  But God…Who wouldn’t serve a God who is able to calm the wind and the waves?  Who else could you trust like that?  No one.  Cast your cares on Him.  He has already worked it out.
