Seeking Him

7Then Herod secretly called the magi and determined from them the exact time the star appeared. 8And he sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the Child; and when you have found Him, report to me, so that I too may come and worship Him.” 9After hearing the king, they went their way; and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the Child was. 10When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12And having been warned by God in a dream not to return to Herod, the magi left for their own country by another way.

These scriptures illuminate an example of “What the devil intended for evil, God made it good.”  The most important part of this story is that the wise men were “seeking” Christ.  Though they were on a mission of deceit; God intervened and made it a beautiful gesture of worship and gift-giving.  The wise men were sent to spy but fell to their knees instead and worshipped the baby Jesus with gifts!

Hebrews 11:6 states, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”  If we take a lesson from the wise men, we will diligently seek Christ today; not just go through the motions. When we diligently seek Christ, our behavior, thinking and speaking should exude the virtues of The Christ.   Diligently (sincerely) seek Christ today and watch how God will intervene and change your life.  He will turn things around for your good (favor) and you will be rewarded.
