“I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope.” — Jeremiah 29:11 niv

2020 has been a year of so many different things for different people. For some joblessness or a new job; For some demotion or promotion; for some eviction or home ownership; for some celebrations of birthdays and for some homegoing celebrations. For some, funeral planning and for some wedding planning. For some sickness and for some healing. For some victory and for some defeat. Some business losses and some business opportunities…There are many other comparisons and sentiments which can go in various directions.
However, there are some things we can all share in are the pandemic-COVID 19, continuous systemic racism, fear, and hopelessness at times. Whether the fear was police brutality, election upheavals, or loss of hope for a brighter future, know that God NEVER changed in the process. For some of us, it is what we encountered or endured in 2020 that is going to propel us for better living in 2021.
Reflect on the things in 2020 that enabled you to grow, learn more about yourself and/or others and revelations that needed to be revealed. In some ways we were prepared; and in other ways we were not prepared. Whether your reflections and revelations may have caused a shift or change in your life, know that God NEVER changed in the process.
He knows the plans he has for you. Lean on Him, focus on Him. Do not get distracted. Our future with God can conquer all the challenges in 2020.
More Than Conquerors Romans 8:31-39 niv
31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a]
37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
