Romans 12:18-19 KJV
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
With all that has happened in this world, all that racism, bitterness, evil doing, sickness, death, violence, and hatred. Know that we must stay in peace. We can’t fix what God didn’t give us to fix. We can’t “be” God, we have to turn it over to God. We cannot control people and make them do what we feel they should do. We can only pray for them, let God be God and watch Him work. Watch Him change things in His timing.
1 Corinthians 13:4 TLB
4 Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful, or proud,
If we are honest with ourselves, we can admit that we have been impatient, unkind, jealous, envious, boastful, or full of pride. We operated in the flesh and ignored the command of God; that is to do everything in the spirit of unconditional love. If you don’t have a strong relationship with God, you will not be able to understand how to love above and beyond the flesh. Only in the spirit will we understand this love that God speaks of in this scripture. The Message Bible says this:
Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut,
Doesn’t have a swelled head. Doesn’t force itself on others,
Isn’t always “me first.” Doesn’t fly off the handle,
Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn’t revel when others grovel. Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything. Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best. Never looks back but keeps going to the end.
Pray and ask God for His spirit to abide in you, and illuminate His love.
