Don’t Give Up Too Soon – Don’t Give Up on God Because He Won’t Give Up on You.
God Sees You in the New Year
By Vanady Daniels
Genesis 16:13 13 She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen[c] the One who sees me.” Hagar is speaking to God in this scripture. She has suffered at the wrongdoing and poor decision making of Sarai. In this case, Sarai gave up too soon and committed a wrongdoing. She had no business giving Hagar to Abram. That situation immediately went wrong, caused hostility, strife and discord in her home – at her own doing.
When we trust God, we must not take matters into our own hands, because it creates a mess. We must wait through it, cry through it, and get through it. We also must make sure that our actions are aligned with God’s will.
Have you ever been in a situation in which you felt God had a deaf ear to your prayers? Did you feel guilty of some sin wherein you believed God had forsaken you and never to return. Hopeless, ashamed or just down and out in your brokenness?
Be encouraged – God can ALWAYS be found if you seek HIM. Regardless of your circumstance, we can still seek God in the midst of what we’re going through.
- He Sees Us! Yes, He Does. He already knows the details of the situation. And most of all, He knows the outcome. 1 Peter 5:7 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. He loves us too much. He calls us to repent and come to Christ. When we are in “that place” repentance and salvation; we are under His covering. Psalm 91:1-2: “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Don’t put your circumstances before God. His word is full of promises that He keeps. He’s not like us. He doesn’t break promises or change His mind.
- In Psalms 139:1, David says – You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. We can decree and declare like David did, that God has all-seeing eyes. His omnipotence – all powerful and mighty, omniscience (all knowing) /ämˈniSHən(t)s/ is more than enough. See that’s what got the children of Israel is so much trouble…they just could not wrap their heads around God’s omnipotence and omniscience. They could only see themselves with all of their limitations and began to rely on idolatry and commit other sins.
- So, in closing – that ‘s what happens when we don’t trust God and his wisdom.
- It’s not our impatience and wrong timing that gets victory. He sees you, He knows you, He loves you and is always there with you. Don’t let the persuasion of the enemy overrule your trust in God. Trust God’s power, timing and wisdom. He sees you.
